11 ARRESTED AT ZAKYNTHOS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. 14 IN TOTAL AT THREE IONIAN AIRPORTS.
Over the past 24 hours a total of 14 foreign nationals were arrested at the airports of Zakynthos, Corfu and Kefalonia, while attempting to illegally travel on international flights .
Specifically at Zakynthos Airport, Security Department Officers detected , in 3 separate cases on Sunday 12/7 and Monday 13/7, 11 foreign nationals presenting forged travel documents while attempting to board flights to Italy and Holland.
At Corfu airport on Monday 13/7. Airport Security officers detected 2 female foreign nationals using travel documents belonging to other people, while attempting to board a flight to Germany.
Finally, at Kefalonia airport on Saturday, one foreign national was detected by Airport Security officers, trying to board a flight to Italy with forged documents.
All arrested persons were brought before the respective local judicial authorities.
