Homing on the idea of handing out correct information, the Zakynthos Traffic Police distributed leaflets yesterday at schools.
The leaflets referred to traffic and education for parents and pupils attending schools on the island. This action takes place every year on the first day of the school year! Traffic police officers throughout the Ionian Islands distributed the printed material. The idea is to inform and raise awareness for parents and students about road safety issues. The schools that police handed out the leaflets in Zakynthos were the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 6th Elementary Schools.

The Zakynthos Police Directorate, from the Police Chief to the last police officer, will make efforts throughout the school year to enable students to safely move to and from schools. The central planning and strategic goal of the Ministry of Citizen Protection, is the safe movement of students. ” Mr. Tsolos emphasized that Traffic Department will be close to students and will protect them so that they can move safely to and from school complexes. “Our colleagues at the Ministry are now distributing leaflets to students with road safety messages. We will be at the side of every student. All this is written in the brochures and we will be here for the students to move safely, “added Mr Tsolos.
