15th April will be a test as to whether the measures have taken hold.

“On April 15, we will see how the measures we have taken hold and if they have worked”,  the Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias told SKAI. He noted that because of the coronavirus pandemic “we have a very critical month ahead” and warned that “no one should relax, we must stay home”.

In regards to the spread of the virus, the Minister of Health has made it clear that our country is within the curve, that is, the disease is expanding but at such a rate that it allows hospitals and the public health system to respond.

He warned that April is a “very critical month” and there should be no relaxation because it is so easy to go into disaster scenarios if we do not comprehend that we must stay home.

In addition, Mr Kikilias reiterated that so far more than 4,200 recruitments of doctors and staff have been approved in hospitals that have already largely been hired, while regarding ICUs he said that with private sector “we are over 870 and continuing” .

He also announced that 600 respirators had been ordered and stood by  the importance of work by our doctors and nurses, calling them  “modern heroes”.
