The Zakynthos Security Department solved a case of telephone fraud where a 71-year-old resident of Zakynthos was the victim. The offender was identified a 22-year-old national who was later charged with the crime.
In particular, after a thorough investigation by police officers, it was found that the 22-year-old national on (20.08.2019), contacted the 71-year-old and pretending to be a bank officer, convincing him to pay the sum of (6,500) euros into his bank account, with the pretext of returning back.
The Zakynthos Security Department had been investigating the case.
The case file against the 22-year-old will be presented to The District Attorney’s office in Zakynthos.
