4th Zakynthos Night Run

Organised by the Owners of Foreign Language Schools in Zakynthos Association.

Saturday, 8th June. Parade starts at 18.00, races from 18.30. Start and finish line is at Solomos square.

The Zakynthos Philharmonic will parade along with schools and sports clubs before the races start.

Made up of:

Childrens‘ races of 500 metres (born 2010) –
1st race: age 0 – kindergarten pupils (2013).
2nd race: A (2012), B (2011), C. (2010) Primary school classes.

AND 1,000 metres (born 2004-2009) –
1st race: D (2009), E (2008), F (2007) Primary school classes,
2nd race: A (2005), B (2004), C (2003) Gymnasium school classes.

Adults races of 5.000 metres (born 2002 and older, running or walking) –

AND 10.000 metres (born 2000 and older) in the following age groups –
MEN: 18-29 years old, 30-39 years old, 40-49 years old, 50+,
WOMEN: 18-29years, 30-39years, 40+.

For the 5,000m and 10,000m there will be bottled water at the turn (2,500m).
There will also be bottled water at the finish.

The winners of each race will be awarded a cup and medal, while 2nd and 3rd place will receive a medal.
A commemorative medal of participation will be awarded to all those who finish. If someone in the general ranking receives an award he/she, is excluded from the age categories.
• The oldest runner will receive an award.
• The largest in participation group will also receive an award.




About Louise Inzk

Louise is Australian born and has been a Greek citizen since 1991. She has deep cultural ties with the island, often writing about Zakynthian Traditions and Culture. She is also an active member of the Volunteer Group of Zakynthos, Giostra Di Zante and is a member of the women's choir "Rodambelos". Her love of the island and all it offers saw her joining the Zakynthos (Zante) Informer admin team in 2014.
