A new team is ready to descend in to Zakynthian football.
A team that comes to create new data, with its presence, but also to shake the “stagnant waters” of soccer. And when we say shake we mean it, since this particular team has a name that is akin with the name of the big team, that of APS Zakynthos, 1961, even with the old APS Zakynthos, which is leaving football due to the large amount of tax owed. This new team will be called “APS New Zakynthos 1970” and is from the team of people that until recently were on the administrative board of APS Zakynthos, in the second category of the EPS of Zakynthos.
This particular team (APS Zakynthos) played for the last time a sew days ago and was then handed over to Stelios Gounaris. The new team, therefore, “APS New Zakynthos 1970” was created so that all of the children belonging to the academies of Spyros Fiorentinos and the Apollona team could find a “football home”. The ‘people of Jerusalem’ (referring to persons belonging to a closed social environment and at the same time are aware of what happens in it) knew that once the issue with Stelios Gounaris was created – Gounaris asked, with an extrajudicial, the organisers that the team of APS Zakynthos reverts back to its old administrative status – the people running the team decided to create from scratch a football club that has a name relative to that of the big team APS Zakynthos 1961.
So, with the decision of the County Court of Zakynthos the founding of the union with this specific name, was recognised. In the coming days the emblem as well as the colours of the team will be made known. According to information, the emblem will have a laurel-crowned Apollona and 1970 the date of the merger of Apollona and Ahillea. The basic colours will be yellow and black.

With its order No. 3/2019 the County Court of Zakynthos recognized the establishing of an association with the name “Athletiki Podosferoikos Sillogo / Athletic Soccer Association New Zakynthos 1970”, based in the town of Zakynthos approved the 18.02.2019 statutes, consisting of thirty one (31) articles and their purposes referred to in Article 2 (2) thereof, namely the symmetrical and harmonious development of physical and mental strength and skills of members and the creation of strong and moral characters, as well as the enhancement of sports in all forms and events, etc
