Award winning film for Zakynthian, Nick Kontostavlakis

Zakynthian Nick Kontostavlakis attended the 12th international tourism film festival with his entry “At Home – A journey back to Greece.”  

The International Tourism Film Festival Tourfilm Riga has been a member of the International Committee of the Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT ) since 2009. The Festival “Tourfilm Riga” was organized by the Riga City Council for the 12th time. At the 12th International Tourism Film festival “Tourfilm Riga 2019” the professional international jury judged previously selected entries  of 173 films.

The jury had finished the evaluation of films and the winners of the Festival were announced during the Award ceremony on last night, May 24th. Jury awarded prizes to Nick Kontostavlakis for the same film in two different categories, the main award – the Grand Prix and first place in the category Tourism Destination – Country, with Azerbaijan and Serbia sharing second place whilst Italy and Germany sharing third place.

Nick has also won gold earlier on in the year in the “One Eyeland Photography awards 2018, gaining “photographer of the year- Greece” earning himself 25 points in the competition.

It tells a story of a young man travelling the world in search of what he needs only to find that when he returns home, that being Greece and of course, in this case for Zakynthian, Nick Kontostavlakis his home Zakynthos,  he finally finds what he needs.
