Without major problems, the first wave of bad weather passed our island and the strong winds caused limited damages.

According to information from the Fire Brigade, interventions took place in some places of the road network where trees and branches had fallen.

The relevant departments of the municipality and the Regional Unit helped to remove objects, that hindered traffic, along with firefighters.

Interventions took place yesterday, 24/01, at Macherado and the day before, 23/01, in Agrilia.

Yesterday, 24/01, coastal shipping was resumed, which had stopped the previous day because of stormy winds blowing in the Ionian.

Floods have not been recorded in homes and the Fire Department did not have to intervene in any houses. But ditches and other places were flooded, where the waters receded when the rain subsided.

The Civil Protection Department of the Region has issued a warning notice to inform the public regarding the severe weather phenomena. The same was done by the Port Authority.
