Cases today: Concern for intubated people – The death toll is rising.

The number of intubated coronavirus patients is constantly increasing and causing concern. The number of deaths in Greece is increasing, just 16 in a few hours on Sunday.

Epidemiological data in Greece are at a critical point. The health system is under unbearable pressure due to the escalation of coronavirus cases in recent weeks. In particular, the number of intubated and deaths of people due to COVID-19 are the main points that caused the alarm and the emergency measures.

The lockdown was imposed in a hurry to prevent the pandemic, but it may not be enough. Anxiety about the number of intubated patients is growing daily, as the number is growing rapidly and worries the scientific community and health officials. There is also great concern about the number of deaths, with 16 people “passing away” within a few hours on Sunday (8/11).

The available ICUs are therefore declining as the number of intubated patients increases, while there is a large increase in the number of deaths daily due to coronavirus. The information states that a total of 1,063 ICU beds are operating throughout the country. 734 are occupied and 329 vacant (31%). The ICU-non COVIDs are currently 643, 475 are occupied and 168 vacancies (26%).

If one calculates that it will take time for the measures taken since Saturday morning (7/11) to pay off, one also understands how marginal the situation in the country’s health system is. At the same time, it becomes clear to everyone how important it is to observe these measures, in order to be efficient and to drastically reduce the number of cases and – mainly – intubated in the country.

The possibility of relaxation of the measures at the moment seems quite distant, while according to the scientists, a lockdown may not be enough. In fact, there is a relevant revelation for a plan of successive lockdowns in places, with the plan including 21 days of tough measures for 14 days of more relaxed enforcement until we reach March.
