During today’s daily report on coronavirus within Greece, 156 new cases were reported within the last 24 hours. From the new cases 150 were amongst refugees in Kranidi.
Nikos Hardalias rushed to the spot, as 150 people from the refugee structure have tested positive for coronavirus. According to Mr. Hardalias, “there is no reason to panic. What needs to be done will be based on protocol. All have mild symptoms.
Samples were taken after a positive case was identified in a 28-year-old pregnant woman from Somalia, who remains in solitary confinement at the hotel which functions as a refugee accommodation structure.
The hotel has been in quarantine since Thursday night, for precautionary reasons, because an employee was found to be positive, but had not come to work in the last 12 days, according to a statement.
Inspections were carried out on 470 refugees as well as on the employees of the Kranidi Health Center, the IOM and the structure.
The area is on complete lock down for the next 14 days.
Greece now stands at 121 deaths, 59 are intubated, while the total of coronavirus cases has now reached 2401.
