On Monday, May 4, 2020, environmental groups, unions and AMKE of Zakynthos invite citizens to a protest rally against the new anti-environmental bill that is being voted on next Tuesday in Parliament.
We call on you to demonstrate our opposition to a bill that without dialogue, without consultation, without transparency, the government brings “overnight” to a virtually closed Parliament, a law that destroys the environment.
Specifically, regarding our island, the bill:
- Abolishes the Management Body of the “Marine Park of Zakynthos”.
- It changes the land uses in the Protected Areas of Zakynthos.
- Facilitates Emiri-type investors, putting the environment and man second.
- Allows drilling in habitats and types, such as the islets of Strofades.
Together on Monday, at 7.00 pm, in Solomos Square, we will send a message to the government that we are not negotiating the environment of our island, we are not selling out our place and the lives of our children for a short-sighted, unsustainable development.
