Eptanesian tastes

 

Eptanesian tastes are to be found at the UN House, for a week, in Vienna.

About 4,500 employees from 130 countries will taste the unique traditional flavours and aromas of the Ionian islands, while throughout the restaurants there will be tourism promotion of the Ionian showcasing the best tourism product of the PIN (Region) to an audience of high economic consumer possibility.

The “Ionian Week”, to be held from 11th to 15th February, is the culmination of the cooperation between the Ionian Islands Region (PIN) and the Vice-Governor of Tourism and Island Policy, Spyros Galiatsatos, with the Greek Embassy in Vienna since last year.

The “Ionian Week” will be attended by both the Ionian Islands Regional Director Theodoros Galiatsatos and the Deputy Regional Governor of Tourism and Island Policy.

Particularly, in the restaurants for mid-day meals, to UN officials will be available, as main dishes, food that will be prepared by cooks from the Ionian Islands, while throughout the restaurants there will be tourism promotion of our islands with poster postings, distribution of printed materials and other material from a specially designed space, video viewing etc.

It is estimated that there will be about 2,000 employees daily there and beyond the advertising of the week, which will be undertaken by Eurest catering company both on its website and with freestanding banners on UN premises, there will be information from the Embassy of Greece in Vienna to all the Permanent Missions of the countries of the international organisations of the UN.

At the reception of the Regional Governor of the Ionian Islands, which will take place within UN House, have been invited the Greek commissioner at the Vienna Embassy, Nikos Sapountzis, and members of the Embassy, the head of the Austrian and Hungarian GNTO Office, Helen Melita and executives of the office, as well as airlines, tour operators, journalists of Diaspora Press and RES-ICU.
