Exhibition in Holland….. Zakynthos among their top choices.

Increased reservations for 2020 – Greece best destination for entertainment. Favourite destination is Crete.

Tourist movement from the Netherlands to Greece in recent years has been particularly dynamic. Indeed, the Dutch market is the fifth in a row after the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and France arriving in Greece, demonstrating the Dutch’s continuing interest in travel to our country.

Also, according to research firm Trends & Tourism, presented at the TravelCongress conference, in the context of the recent Vakantiebeurs 2020 exhibition in Utrecht, a 24% increase in the number of Dutch holidaymakers abroad is expected by 2030. This figure corresponds to 44 million tourists, given the steady upward trend of the country’s economy.

It is worth noting that the Dutch market has been following a steady upward trend in the last three years, with a landmark year in 2019, which broke the barrier of one million Dutch visitors to our country, with reservations for 2020 increasing as the number of direct visitors increases Airlines to 20 Greek destinations.

Crete remains their first favourite destination, followed by Kos. For the first time, Zakynthos passed Rhodes and Corfu. Next are Samos, Lesvos, Kefalonia, Karpathos and Halkidiki.

The Trourist booth (EOT) was attended by 16 co-operators, including the Regions from: Northern Aegean, Crete, Ionian Islands, South Aegean, Western Macedonia, Central Greece, the Municipalities of Northern Tzoumerka and Nafplio and the Halkidiki Display Organization.

Lefkada this year was the honourable destination on the Greek pavilion of Vakantiebeurs 2020, on the occasion of the new Tour Operator Corendon’s flight to the island.

Also, our country has emerged as the best entertainment destination from the Reisgraag.nl tourist platform, confirming the Dutch love how Greeks have fun.

Greece has invested heavily in social media promotion, with the aim of presenting the country as a multidisciplinary destination with alternative tourism products. On the sidelines of the exhibition, three cooking shows were organized and recipes based on black garlic from Volos by Greek chef Gregory Helm and for vegan, Greek Fasolada with virgin olive oil by Dutch chef AnneliekevanWoerkom.
