Recently, a facebook page has been created by John Tossell’s daughter Katy. Having been asked if there was a Facebook page that could provide information or up dates. Katy decided that one could be set up. With in the page she tells of the story on how her father “ has simply vanished” from Zakynthos. Her status read like this:-
Find John Tossell.
“John Tossell travelled to Zante on 14th June 2019 with his partner of 19 years. It was his first time in Zante and as a keen walker with an avid interest in history, he was keen to explore. On Monday 17th June, John left his hotel at approximately 9.30AM, telling his partner he wouldn’t be long and to take his bathing costume and towel down to the pool ready for when he returned. He left with 10 euros and a bottle of water. John was captured on CCTV passing the Windmill Bay Hotel heading out of town towards vassilikos at 9.46am. This is the last confirmed sighting. John has not been seen since. Greek Local Authorities searched Skopos Mountain for 5 days, as John had commented he would like to see the masts on the top of the mountain at some point during his holiday. They called off the search after 5 days. John’s family fundraised and due to the kindness of others raised £7000 this enabled The Western Beacons Mountain Rescue team to fly over and search the mountain and the roads leading up to it. However, no sign of John has been found. It is like he has simply vanished. This Group has been set up to hopefully get information from anyone who may have seen or spoken to John. Also If holiday makers could search their holiday pictures in the hope he could be in the background. Any Information no matter how small could be vital and could provide an
answer his family so desperately need.”

The BBC one t.v programme hosted by Michelle Ackerley and Rav Wilding, who is a former detective, will host John’s children.
On the 18th of September Gary and I will be giving an interview,” hoping to drum up a response” as Katy stated.

The Crimewatch Roadshow takes to the streets of Britain to appeal directly to the public for help with unsolved cases. It is a unique daytime television programme enabling viewers to help police.
In this case hoping to gather information from holiday makers who were on the Island at the time. Perhaps in their holiday videos, pictures or selfies they may have John. Perhaps help someone jog their memory as to where John may have been, something at least to help the family finally find closure after so many months of not knowing.
For those who live in the UK it will certainly be a programme not to miss!!
