Fund raiser for local fire department “Jaws of Life”

As most of you know the campaign for the “Jaws of Life started in August.

Our Aim

The aim for the fundraiser was to buy a type of hydraulic rod piston tool. This is used to open vehicles involved in accidents. Not only is this tool used for releasing trapped victims in road accidents, but it is very useful when it comes to earthquake devastation where victims may have become trapped.

As Zakynthos is a place where tourism is one of her major income resources, we feel that this equipment would not only benefit the locals but also any visitor to our Island if necessary.

Our Firemen are always at hand and have proved time and time again that they are an important part of our local society, not just protecting us from fire but also helping stranded animals, in extreme weather situations such as floods, cyclones and more.

United

Together with The Rotary Club of Zakynthos alongside its English speaking Satellite Club, with support of the following local charities and organisations: “The Movement of Giving Now”, The Ionian Echo and Zakynthos Informer, we are trying to make our Island better wherever possible. Please help us!

Your love for our Island has been shown many times before and we thank you for the support you have shown throughout the years.

We are we now:-

As the first fund raiser unfortunately had exceeded its time limit we had to start a new one. The link is below for donating.

At the moment we have received just over two thousand euros towards the  Jaws of Life”   unfortunately, due to the coronavirus we have been unable to hold events for fundraising. We were hoping that the total amount of four thousand euros would be met by Christmas. This seems now impossible. So, we are aiming for a Easter present and just in time for the tourist season.

A Christmas Hamper has been organised and our teams are selling raffle tickets, one euro per ticket…. Have you bought yours?? If you would like to, please contact our Admin team on Zakynthos informer, Penny Draper or Rhiannon Lewis

If you would like to help us in anyway,  please donate by click on the link here → Jaws of Life gofundme
