Extreme weather conditions to hit Zakynthos later tonight.
According to the press release for Dangerous Weather Reports issued on Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 by the National Weather Service (NMA), bad weather is forecast for today, Sunday afternoon (24-11-2019) from the west, which during Monday (25-11-2019) will affect almost the entire country. Its main features will be heavy rain and thunderstorms that will be accompanied by hailstorms and stormy southern winds.
In particular Zakynthos may experience gale storm winds of up to 10 beaufort. This means that we may encounter problems with trees uprooting and some structural damage. Very high waves are to be expected in some areas around Zakynthos.
As we look at the photos from some applications the extreme wind conditions will hit later on this afternoon around 16.00p.m and will grow in force during the night. The phenomenon will die down around midnight.
Monday however we are expected to have thunderstorms and the temperature will be around 19 degrees.
