So Phoebe is definitely letting us know she is here!
As far as Zakynthos is concerned, Phoevos has arrived and is causing havoc with wild winds, thunderstorms and even hail! So much that in the area of Katastari the heavy rain turned in to gulf ball size hail stones. Photos soon filled the social media and most certainly speak for themselves.
The sudden hail storm, though short-lived, caused a great impression on Zakynthians, especially in the area of Bochali, the Castle, where the residents saw the streets and their neighbourhoods covered by dense hail in such a large size. Certainly such incidents do not occur frequently in Zakynthos, but they definitely make a great conversation maker as to just what is happening to our climate.
The weather conditions at the moment have forced our ferries to be tied down at the port, at the moment there is no news as to when the ferries will be taking their normal schedule, one thing is for sure, i don’t think their would be many wanting to travel by sea in this wind at the moment. As for the weather conditions tomorrow the winds will die down to a rate of 37km/h compared to the 55km/h we are recieving at the moment, temperatures will drop to a high of 14 and a low of 9 and rain is also expected. Winter is here and Phoevos is just letting us know.
