Greece has ranked second in the world for the Blue Flag quality award list of beaches, marinas and sustainable tourism boats.
With 497 award-winning beaches, 14 marinas and 6 sustainable tourism boats, Greece ranked second, after Spain in first place among 47 countries.

The only beach area that was awarded in the prefecture of Zakynthos was in lower Tragaki.
Announcement.
The announcement of the results was made public by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (HSPN). It must be noted that amongst all 47 countries participating in the program, Greece made up 13% of the total number of beaches awarded by the program this year.
Like last year, most of Greece’s Blue Flags 94 of them in fact, went to beaches in Halkidiki, northern Greece.
The International Commission has awarded 3,895 boats, 691 marinas and 82 tourist boats worldwide this year.

It is reminded that the National Operator of the International Program “Blue Flag” in our country is the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (EEPF), which emphasizes:
“Going through the fourth decade of the Program in our country, Blue Flags will wave again this year on the Greek coast, rewarding the excellent water quality and the high level of services offered to bathers, and ensuring the hygiene and hygiene criteria, the protection of the Municipality. ”
Since 1992 the HSPN has been the national operator of the Blue Flag, a Programme which is aimed at ecological management of beaches, marinas and tourist boats.
