This time, employers and employees will have 13 hours to declare the January contract suspensions, as the measure extends – as was to be expected and as previously announced – to 2021.
Special purpose allowances for the month of January are expected to be paid in the first 15 days of February and will be calculated – as is always the case – based on 534 euros for 30 days of suspension.
The declarations of the December suspensions in “Ergani”, which is a necessary procedure for the payment of the special purpose compensations, start next Tuesday, January 19th. One day before, that is, next Monday, the relevant KYA is expected to be published, which will legally seal the extension of the measure. The deadline for declarations will be common for closed and affected companies: From 19 to 31 January.
As for December, the declarations will be submitted separately from closed and affected sectors, depending on the course of the local and national lockdown. For example, retail companies that open on Monday can reinstate all or only part of their employees, as they can keep as many employees as they want suspended in the contract, up to 100% if they remain closed on a voluntary basis. With this formula, employees who remain on suspension throughout January will receive compensation of 534 euros. Those who return to work from Monday for the needs of the reopening of companies are entitled to compensation for the period 1-17 January, ie 303 euros.
Special provisions based on local lockdown apply in the Municipality of Sparta, the Community of Sperchiada, Argolida, Lesvos, Boeotia, Aspropyrgos, Elefsina, Kozani, Kalymnos etc. It is reminded that next Monday the process of declarations and correct repetitions for the December suspensions will be completed, so that the January declarations can start on Tuesday. The declarations will be made a la carte, depending on the period of suspension. For example, retailers will file applications as closed for the period 1-17 January and as affected from 18 to 31 January.
As described in detail in the announcement of the Ministry of Labor, for the companies that have KAD which within the month of January, for a certain period of time is in the category of the affected and then for the rest of the month in the category of closed after a public order, a separate form is submitted – a declaration of suspension for each category. In other words, the companies must specify in the special form whether the declared suspension periods refer to a period during which the KAD is closed by order of a public authority or is affected. It is reminded that employees who have previously submitted a statement, are not required to make a new statement unless they wish to modify their details (eg IBAN). Only employees whose employment contract is suspended for the first time are required to submit the responsible declaration.
For all suspended workers in January the special compensation will be calculated on the basis of 534 euros for 30 days, ie 17.8 euros per day of suspension.
