Greece: Attica “champion” again with 804 cases of coronavirus, 140 in Thessaloniki. Updates for Zakynthos included

In Attica, most cases of coronavirus were detected for another twenty-four hours, according to the geographical distribution announced by EODY.

Specifically, out of the 1,585 new confirmed cases of the disease, 804 were detected in Attica, in Thessaloniki 140 were recorded and in Achaia another 32 new infections.

NO NEW CASES REPORTED FOR ZAKYNTHOS.

The course of de-escalation of the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic is sealed by the latest epidemiological data announced by the National Organization of Public Health (EODY). The virus, however, remains “here”, as government and experts stress in all tones, stressing the importance of adhering to health protocols and self-protection measures.

Specifically, today, Friday 28 May, EODY announced:

“The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 1,585, of which 6 were identified after checks at the country’s gates. The total number of cases is 398,898 (daily change + 0.5%), of which 51.2% are men.

Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 28 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 2,102 are related to an already known case.

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 40, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 11,995 deaths have been recorded. 95.1% had
underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 521 (61.8% men). Their median age is 67 years. 85.6% have underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,411 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 231 (daily change + 12.14%). The average seven-day import is 227
The median age of cases is 44 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).

 

Vaccinations

A total of 5,305,355 vaccinations have been carried out (+98.530) on 27/05/2021.
3,474,679 vaccinations with at least 1 dose have been given (+58.305) on 27/05/2021.
Whilst 1,924,490 comprehensive vaccinations have been performed (+43.796) on 27/05/2021.

Zakynthos.

A total of 20.229  vaccinations have been carried out (+438 on 27/05/2021).

14.385 vaccinations with at least one dose have been given (+253 on 27/05/2021).

Whilst 8.084 comprehensive vaccinations have been performed (+286 on 27/05/2021)
