Coronavirus: 687 cases in Attica, 134 in Thessaloniki – The distribution

The geographical distribution of coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours

In Attica, most of the new cases of coronavirus in Greece are recorded for another 24 hours and on Monday, May 17, according to the distribution of cases announced by EODY. Specifically, out of the total of 1,402 cases of coronavirus, 687 new cases are recorded in Attica, 134 were detected in Thessaloniki, while in Achaia 47 cases were found in 24 hours.

The information from EODY about the cases of coronavirus in Greece during the last 24 hours.

OEODY announced on Monday, May 17, 1,402 new cases of coronavirus, 56 deaths and 647 intubated patients. It should be noted that a few tests were performed due to the weekend and specifically 23,328 were performed (PCR: 5,352, RAPID: 17,976) and their positivity is at 6.01%.

The announcement of EODY in detail:

The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 1,402, of which 4 were identified after checks at the country’s gates. The total number of cases amounts to 378,485 (daily change + 0.4%), of which 51.2% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 38 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 2,324 are related to an already known case.
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 56, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 11,471 deaths have been recorded. 95.2% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 647 (62.6% men). Their median age is 67 years. 83.0% have an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,287 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 318 (daily change + 10.8%). The average seven-day admission is 313 patients. The median age of cases is 44 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).

Vaccinations

A total of 4,292,541 vaccinations have been carried out (+107.194) on 15/05/2021
2,772,428 vaccinations with at least 1 dose have been given (+54.024 )on 15/05/2021
1,568,229 comprehensive vaccinations have been performed (+58.134)on 15/05/2021

Zakynthos

A total of  14,960  vaccinations have been carried out (+441 on 15/05/2021).

10,091 vaccinations have been made with the first dose  (+278 on 15/05/2021), whilst  5,344 comprehensive vaccinations have been performed (+208 on 15/05/2021)
