Coronavirus: 1,056 cases in Attica, 189 in Thessaloniki – The distribution
The geographical distribution of coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours
In Attica, most of the new cases of coronavirus in Greece are recorded for another 24 hours and on Wednesday, May 19, according to the distribution of cases announced by EODY. Specifically, out of the total of 2,293 cases of coronavirus, 1,056 new cases are recorded in Attica, 189 were detected in Thessaloniki, while 92 cases were found in Etoloakarnania in 24 hours.

The total number of cases amounts to 381,266 (daily change + 0.7%), of which 51.2% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 34 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 2,210 are related to an already known case.
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 63, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 11,534 deaths have been recorded. 95.2% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 639 (62.8% are men). Their median age is 67 years. 82.8% have an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,298 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 334 (daily change + 5.03%). The average seven-day admission is 319 patients.
The median age of cases is 44 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
From January 1, 2020 until today, in the laboratories that perform tests for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically state the total of the samples they test, a total of 4,901,080 clinical samples have been tested while from Health Units and Scales of 4,048,945 samples have been tested for Rapid Ag. The seven-day average is 52,539 sample checks.
As of May 17, 2021, 6,673,941 self-diagnostic results have been recorded electronically, while 152,068 people came for re-examination.
On May 17, 2021, 134 sampling actions were carried out by the Mobile Health Groups (KOMY) of EODY, in which 19,566 Rapid Ag tests were performed and 364 positive (1.86%) were found.
Vaccinations
A total of 4,615,746 vaccinations have been carried out (+101.767) on 19/05/2021.
An amount of 2,974,198 vaccinations with at least 1 dose have been given (+68.969) on 19/05/2021.
Whilst 1,709,388 comprehensive vaccinations have been performed (+36.613) on 19/05/2021.
Zakynthos
A total of 16.730 vaccinations have been carried out (+598 on 19/05/2021).
An amount of 11.477 vaccinations with at least 1 dose has been given (+498 on 19/05/2021).
Whilst 6.332 comprehensive vaccinations have been preformed (+326 on 19/05/2021)
