Greece:- Coronavirus update for Friday 07 May.

EODY announced on Friday afternoon that the new cases of coronavirus in the country amount to 2691. In the last 24 hours, 63 of our fellow citizens lost their lives, 749 the intubated.

 

The National Organization of Public Health (EODY) announced on Friday afternoon (07/05) that the laboratory confirmed new cases of coronavirus amount to 2,691, of which 7 were identified after checks at the country’s gates. The 1245 were located in Attica.

The total number of cases amounts to 358,116 (daily change + 0.8%), of which 51.2% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 53 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 1,705 are related to an already known case.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 749 (62.1% men). Their median age is 67 years. 83.2% have an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,165 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 392 (daily change + 5.95%). The average seven-day import is 391 patients.

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 63, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 10,910 deaths have been recorded. 95.3% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.

Performing a test

In the last 24 hours 17,857 molecular tests and 43,948 rapid tests were performed. In a total of 61,805 tests, the positivity is estimated at 4.35%.

From January 1, 2020 until today, in the laboratories that carry out tests for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically state the total of the samples they test, a total of 4,736,061 clinical samples have been tested while from Health Units and Scales of EODY performing Rapid Ag tests have tested 3,650,679 samples. The seven-day average is 35,797 sample checks.

Self-tests: As of May 6, 2021, 3,148,992 statements of self-diagnostic results have been recorded electronically, while 71,910 people came for re-testing.

Mass Sampling of EODY: On May 6, 2021, 127 sampling actions were carried out by the Mobile Health Teams (KOMY) of EODY, in which 19,381 Rapid Ag tests were performed and 337 positive (1.74%) were found.
