Performing a test
In the last 24 hours, 18,309 molecular tests and 52,790 rapid tests were performed. In a total of 71,099 tests the positivity is estimated at 3.42%.
From January 1, 2020 until today, in the laboratories that perform tests for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically state the total of the samples they test, a total of 4,645,215 clinical samples have been tested while from Health Units and Scales of EODY performing Rapid Ag tests have tested 3,434,476 samples. The seven-day average is 55,319 sample checks.
Self-tests: As of April 29, 2021, 1,827,386 self-test reports have been recorded electronically, while 38,661 people came for re-testing.
Bulk Sampling EODY: On April 28, 2021, 134 sampling actions were carried out by the Mobile Health Teams (KOMY) of EODY, in which 18,667 Rapid Ag tests were performed and 289 positive (1.55%) were found.
Genomic analysis was completed on 1,201 selected samples for the period March 3 to April 19, 2021.
From the control of 1,201 samples, a total of 1,013 samples with strains of special interest (Variants Of Concern – VOC) and 145 samples with strains under investigation (Variants Under Investigation – VUI) emerged. Out of 1,013 samples with mutants of special interest, 1,010 were related to the B.1.1.7 / UK lineage mutation (Variant VOC_202012) and 3 were related to the B.1.351 / South Africa mutation (Variant 501.V2), while of the 145 samples with VUI strains, 139 related to strain B.1.1.318 (Variant_E484K), 2 related to strain B.1.1 (Variant_Ε484Κ), 2 related to strain B.1.1.345 (Variant_Ε484Κ),), 1 related to strain B. 1.617 and 1 concerned the strain B.1.617.1.
A total of 10,407 samples of domestic cases have been tested for mutations in the territory since the start of operation of the National Network of Genomic Surveillance of Mutations SARS-CoV-2 until today. Of all the domestic samples tested for mutations, the three most common mutations isolated are B.1.1.7 / UK lineage (Variant VOC_202012), with 66.69%, followed by B.1.1.318 (Variant_E484K ) with a percentage of 5.47% and B.1.351 / South Africa (Variant 501.V2) with a percentage of 0.67%.
In addition, a total of 97 strains have been isolated with mutations from imported samples, of which 92 concern the B.1.1.7 / UK lineage mutation (Variant VOC_202012), 3 concern the B.1.351 / South Africa mutation (Variant 501.V2), 1 concerns the strain VariantVUI202102 / 03 and 1 concerns the strain B.1.617.1.
