Performing a test
In the last 24 hours, 23,804 molecular tests and 56,213 rapid tests were performed. In a total of 80,017 tests, a record number, the positivity is estimated at 4.27%.
From January 1, 2020 until today, in the laboratories that perform tests for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically state the total of the samples that are tested, a total of 4,718,204 clinical samples have been tested while from Health Units and Scales of EODY performing Rapid Ag tests have tested 3,606,731 samples. The seven-day average is 35,035 sample checks.
Self-tests: As of May 5, 2021, 2,391,693 statements of self-diagnostic results have been recorded electronically, while 63,376 people came for re-examination.
Mass Sampling EODY: On May 5, 2021, 121 sampling actions were carried out by the Mobile Health Teams (KOMY) of EODY, in which 22,113 Rapid Ag tests were performed and 417 positive (1.89%) were found.
Genomic analysis was completed on 1,058 selected samples for the period March 29 to April 28, 2021.
From the control of 1,058 samples, a total of 752 samples with strains of special interest (Variants Of Concern – VOC) and 245 samples with strains under investigation (Variants Under Investigation – VUI) emerged. Of the 752 samples with mutants of special interest, 749 were related to the B.1.1.7 / UK lineage mutation (Variant VOC_202012) and 3 were related to the B.1.351 / South Africa mutation (Variant 501.V2), while out of the 245 samples with VUI strains, 243 were related to strain B.1.1.318 (Variant_E484K) and 2 were related to strain B.1.617.2 (VUI-21APR-01) (Table 3).
A total of 11,585 samples of domestic cases have been tested for mutations in the territory since the launch of the National Network of Genomic Surveillance of Mutations SARS-CoV-2 until today. Of all domestic samples tested for mutations, the three most common mutations isolated are B.1.1.7 / UK lineage (Variant VOC_202012), at 66.34%, followed by B.1.1.318 (Variant_E484K) with percentage 6.99% and B.1.351 / South Africa (Variant 501.V2) with a percentage of 0.63% (Table 4).
In addition, a total of 98 strains with mutations from imported samples have been isolated, of which 93 are related to the B.1.1.7 / UK lineage mutation (Variant VOC_202012), 3 are related to the B.1.351 / South Africa mutation (Variant 501.V2), 1 concerns the strain VariantVUI202102 / 03 and 1 concerns the strain B.1.617.1.
