Greece:- Coronavirus updates for the last 24hrs.

The spread of the coronavirus epidemic in Greece continues at a steady pace as on Wednesday afternoon (2/9) the National Organization of Public Health (EODY) announced 233 new cases of the new virus in the country, of which 20 were detected after checking at the gates of the country.

Of the 207 domestic cases, 18 are related to a recent trip within the country, 15 are related to known outbreaks, while 4 report contact with a confirmed case.

 

 

In more detail:

 

20 cases during the checks carried out at the country’s entrance gates

6 imported cases that came voluntarily for testing

87 cases in P.E. Attica, of which 12 cases are associated with a known cases, while 16 report a recent trip inside the country

17 in  Thessaloniki, 2 of which report a recent trip inside the country

1 case in  Etoloakarnania

4 cases in Drama

2 cases in  Dodecanese

1 case in  Evros

1 case in  Evia

1 case in  Zakynthos

15 cases from Imathia, of which 9 are connected by confluence

9 cases in Heraklion, of which 2 are associated with a known case, while 1 reports contact with a confirmed case

4 cases in  Ioannina, of which 3 report contact with a confirmed case

2 cases in  Kavala

4 cases in  Karditsa

9 cases in  Kilkis, of which 7 emerged from a screening

1 case in  Kozani

4 cases in Corinth

2 cases in Cyclades

2 cases in Larissa

4 cases in Lesvos, of which 1 in the Lesvos KYT (immigrants camp) and 1 is connected by a known case

2 cases in  Magnesia

3 cases in Messinia

6 cases in Pella, of which 4 are connected by known cases

6 cases in Pieria, of which 2 are connected by known cases

2 cases in Preveza

1 case in  Rethymno

3 cases in Serres

5 cases in Halkidiki

3 cases in  Chania

3 cases in Chios

3 cases are under investigation

The total number of cases is 10757, of which 55.6% are men. 2141 (19.9%) are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 4779 (44.4%) are related to an already known case.

 

To our 38 fellow citizens who are treated by intubation. Their median age is 68 years. 10 (26.3%) are women and the rest are men. 94.7% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years of age or older.

 

Also 154 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
