A sharp decline in optimism with the incidence of new cases of coronavirus is dashed as the National Organization of Public Health (EODY) announced on Wednesday afternoon (26/08) that the new laboratory confirmed cases of the disease are 293, of which 22 were detected at the entry gates of our country.
Of the 261 domestic cases, 24 are related to a recent trip within the country, while 16 are related to contact or close contact with a confirmed case.

10 imported cases that came voluntarily for testing,
103 cases in P.E. Attica, 18 of which are related to a recent trip within the country,

The total number of cases is 9280 (daily change + 1.9%), of which 55.4% are men.
Of the total of 9280 cases, 1910 (21.3%) are considered to be related to travel from abroad, 4074 (45.3%) are related to an already known case and the rest are not related to travel or any other known case or are still under investigation.
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 5, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 248 deaths have been recorded. The mean age of patients who died was 77 years.
In total, in the last 24 hours we have 6 dead, one of whom was declared later.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 33 (71.0% men). Their median age is 67 years. 10 (30.3%) are women and the rest are men. 42.4% have an underlying disease or are aged 70 and over.
In 145 patients who have left the ICU.
