Greece:- Coronavirus vaccinations start tomorrow and top political officials among the first to be vaccinated (VIDEOS)

Coronavirus:  Vaccinations have arrived in Greece – Where do vaccinations start in Greece.

A nurse at the hospital Evagelisomos, Athens will be the first Greek woman to be vaccinated symbolically, but also a guest in an elderly care unit.

A few hours separate remain for the beginning  of coronavirus vaccinations in our country. The first 9,750 vaccines are already in the special storage areas, where they are stored in cold rooms. The vaccines arrived by road as show in the video below:-

The first vaccines against coronavirus arrived in Greece and since Saturday morning are in Attica and specifically in a warehouse in Kryoneri. The first vaccinations arrived accompanied by strong police forces shortly after 7:00a.m. The vaccination will start on Sunday, December 27.

At the point of arrival were the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalias, the Deputy Minister of Health, Vassilis Kontozamanis and the Secretary General of Primary Health Care, Marios Themistokleous. Thus, the slogan given for the project is called “Freedom” (Eleftheria), so that the vaccinations throughout the country will start gradually from tomorrow, depending on the prioritization that has been made.

“Operation Freedom ”  has begun, the vaccines are now in our country since last night, at the same time with all the countries of the European Union, the missions started. “Tomorrow, with a plan and organization, the first vaccinations in our country will begin so that we can win this battle against the pandemic so that we can take our lives back,” said the general secretary of Primary Health Care and head of  “Operation Eleftheria”,  Marios Themistocleous.

Prioritization in vaccinations

As mentioned in the “Freedom” plan, the vaccination will be done in three phases:

In the first phase, vaccinations for

Health and social services staff

Residents and staff of nursing homes

Residents, patients and staff of care structures for the chronically ill and rehabilitation centers

Priority staff for critical government functions

In the second phase, vaccinations for

People 70 years and older (regardless of medical history). Further prioritization:

People aged 85 and over

People aged 80 and over

People aged 75 and over

People aged 70 and over

Patients with diseases that pose a very high risk of COVID-19 disease regardless of age

Priority staff for critical functions of the State

People 60 to 69 years old (regardless of medical history)

Patients 18 to 59 years of age with diseases at high risk for COVID-19

In the third phase, vaccinations for

People 18 years and older without underlying diseases

 Vaccinations start on Sunday

The big day for coronavirus vaccination in Greece has arrived. In five Hospitals of Attica, “O Evangelismos”, “Sotiria”, “Attikon”, “Thriasio” and “Asklipieio” Voula, the vaccinations against Covid-19 will start tomorrow, Sunday, December 27th.

 

An Evangelismos nurse will be the first Greek woman to be vaccinated symbolically, but also a guest in an elderly care unit in Evangelismos. The President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, will follow with a few hours difference. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Professor Sotiris Tsiodras will be vaccinated at Attikon Hospital.

 

On the same day, Sunday 27 December, the symbolic vaccinations will take place of the secretary of Mera25, Giannis Varoufakis, the chairman of the National Vaccination Committee, the representative of the Ministry of Health for the new coronavirus, the Head of GEETHA and the Metropolitan Nafpontos Nafpontos the Archbishop of Athens and all of Greece, Mr. Ieronymos, to whom the doctors still do not allow him to be vaccinated as he had recently contracted a coronavirus.

13:30 Michalis Giovanidis, guest in an Elderly Care Unit at Evangelismos Hospital

14:00 President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou at Evangelismos Hospital

14:30 Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at Attikon Hospital

14:45 Professor of Pathology-Infectious Diseases Sotiris Tsiodras at Attikon Hospital

15:00 Speaker of Parliament Konstantinos Tassoulas at Evangelismos Hospital

15:30 Secretary of Mera25 Yanis Varoufakis at Evangelismos Hospital

16:00 President of the National Vaccination Committee Maria Theodoridou at Evangelismos Hospital

16:30 Chief of General Staff General Konstantinos Floros at Evangelismos Hospital

17:00 Metropolitan of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios Hierotheos at Evangelismos Hospital

On Monday, December 28, SYRIZA President Alexis Tsipras will be vaccinated at Evangelismos Hospital at 11:45, Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias at 12:15 and General Secretary of Primary Health Care Marios Themistokleous at 12:45.
