Coronavirus: 749 intubations, 75 deaths and 3,445 cases.
EODY difference on Wednesday 7 April 3,445 cases of coronavirus, 75 deaths and 749 intubated. The tests taken on April 6 are 55,179 (PCR: 20,419, RAPID: 34,760) and the positivity (PCR + Rapid) is at 6.24%.
The development of EODY in detail:
The new laboratory confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 3,445, of which 9 were identified after checks at the country’s entry gates. The total number of cases is 285,015 (daily change + 1.2%), of which 51.4% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 94 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 2,711 are related to an already known case. The 𝑅𝑡 for the territory is estimated at 0.96 (95% Crl: 0.4 – 1.54).
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 75, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 8,607 deaths have been recorded. 95.6% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. The number of patients treated by intubation is 749 (65.6% men). Their median age is 68 years. 84.1% have an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,805 patients have been discharged from the ICU. The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 524 (daily change -0.38%). The average seven-day admission is 517 patients. The median age of cases is 44 years (range 0.2 to 105 years), while the median age of death is 79 years (range 0.2 to 103 years). Of the total of 3,445 new cases of the new virus in the country, 12 are imported, of which 9 were detected following checks at the country’s gateways. The distribution of the 3,433 new domestic cases per Regional Unit is presented in the table below.
From January 1, 2020 until today, in the laboratories that carry out tests for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically state the total of the samples they control, a total of 4,287,306 clinical samples have been tested while from Health Units and Scales of EODY performing Rapid Ag tests have tested 2,590,909 samples. The seven-day average is 48,924 sample checks.
The geographical distribution of the cases in detail:
In Attica, most new cases of coronavirus are recorded, according to the distribution of cases announced by EODY. Specifically, out of the total 3,445 cases of coronavirus, 1,670 new cases are recorded in Attica, 398 were detected in Thessaloniki, while another 114 cases were recorded in Achaia.
