From next Monday, June 15, the passenger flights between the “Eleftherios Venizelos” airports in Athens and “Mother Teresa” in Tirana will be restored, as announced today by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy of Albania.
The statement also said that the decision of the two governments to allow regular passenger flights at the same time provides for strict safety protocols against coronavirus and called on passengers to be disciplined in their implementation, thus facilitating travel procedures.
As it is known, Albania announced the opening of land border crossings with neighbouring countries, including Greece, from Monday, June 8, however, the normalization of traffic on these crossings to and from Greece and vice versa is expected to occur from 15 June, when the Greek side will lift the measures to ban citizens from entering the neighbourhood.
In the last 24 hours, however, 42 new cases have been identified in Albania, the most critical days of the country’s pandemic.
