The self tests will be available only to high school students from tomorrow, Thursday, April 8, and as government officials had stated, they will not be allowed to enter the school if they do not have the negative test certificate with them.
Kontozamanis: From tomorrow the availability of self tests
The Deputy Minister of Health, Vassilis Kontozamanis, stated: “The availability of free self-tests for citizens from pharmacies will start tomorrow. It is emphasized that the self-test is a rapid detection nasal test – that is, it belongs to the category of rapid tests – and has urgent approval of disposal and use by the competent regulatory authorities as a self-diagnostic (self-test). In other words, it differs from the rest, because the taking is simpler as a procedure (nasal sample instead of nasopharyngeal / oral pharyngeal) and does not require the supervision of a health professional. It should be noted that the procedure for urgent approval of the disposal and use of the SARS-CoV-2 rapid nasal antigen test as a self-diagnostic has been adopted by many European regulators, such as Germany (BFarm), the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Austria, Portugal. The competition for the self-tests explicitly provided for individual or multiple packages. The company-specific tests provided at this stage in a package of 25 individual pieces are susceptible to individual distribution. The packaging is accompanied by simple instructions in Greek with icons for easy understanding of the process by non-experts, while next receipts will be in individual packages “.
