Greece:- New Measures at borders.

New measures at the border

Additional measures for protection from the coronavirus were announced on Friday by the government spokesman, Stelios Petsas, after the meeting headed by Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Maximos Palace.

The new measures, according to Mr. Petsas, are mainly aimed at arrivals from neighboring Balkan countries:

  1.  Those entering for non-essential reasons, from 6.00 am on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, from the border checkpoint of Promachonas, are required to show a negative result of molecular control (PCR) for the coronavirus which has been performed up to 72 hours before entering Greece.
  2. The obligation to complete the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) remains in force. The minimum time to complete the PLF is limited to 24, from 48 hours, before arriving in Greece.
  3. The number of inspections for compliance with health protocols is being strengthened. For this reason, dozens of control steps of the National Transparency Authority, the General Secretariat for Trade and Consumer Protection and the Greek Police will carry out extensive, over 300, checks throughout Greece until Sunday.

The Prime Minister stressed during the teleconference that “no relaxation is allowed. The opening of the country must be done with the first concern for the safety of both the visitors and the residents of the tourist destinations.

He insisted on strict implementation of the health rules provided for, intensification of controls and taking additional protective measures, especially on the country’s northern borders.
