The Ministry of Education is ready for both alternatives as Niki Kerameos announced.
Decisions on how the schools will operate from September are in the hands of scientists. It is recalled that this year the schools will open a week earlier, as the coronavirus pandemic has also affected education.
The Minister of Education, Niki Kerameos, speaking to ERT, left open the possibility for changes in the way the schools may operate, but saying they will open on September 7. The first bell will ring earlier for teachers to use this time to do revisions. The Minister of Education, Niki Kerameos, stated that there are two alternatives for the operation of the schools: The first is to start the lessons with all the students of each department in one room, observing all the protection measures. The second alternative is to continue the rotating teaching with classes of up to 15 students, as it was in May and with all the protection measures.
The Ministry of Education is ready for both alternatives, as Mrs. Kerameos stressed. Addingat it is too early to make decisions, as the epidemiological data are constantly changing. The experts will decide how the schools will open when the time for the first bell approaches.
