Greece:- Travelling to the Islands….. No entry without Negative Covid Tests

From Monday 5 July for travel to the islands you will need:

For adults: Vaccination certificate or covid disease certificate. Or negative PCR result in the last 72 hours.  Even a negative rapid test result in the last 48 hours. Rapid tests can be done at a public clinic provided by the government.  (No self test)

For minors 12 to 17 years old: Any test including the Self-Test. (not for international travellers… please find below the protocol.

Minors up to 12 years old travel freely.

On the return from the islands:-

It is recommended to conduct a self test for all those who are over 12 years old.

Evia, Lefkada and Salamina are excluded from the measure as well as:

– Those who move between different island Regional Units for work purposes on a daily basis. These will be moved by performing a weekly Self Test as already in force, but also

– Those who move between islands that are very close, to Ferries that connect the Mainland with islands nearby and those with a weekly self-diagnosis will move if they are employees as is already the case and with a self-test before moving and for the rest.

***Please note if you are Island hopping then the one negative test is sufficient from the point of entry to the first Island. For example if you are travelling from Athens to Zakynthos, staying a few days in Zakynthos then on to Kephalonia, the negative test you provided for Zakynthos is sufficient to continue to Kephalonia. However, on your return to Athens you will be asked to have a self test.

FOR INTERNAIONAL TRAVELLERS.

As of May 14th, travelLers arriving in Greece are required to have either a negative PCR certificate from a testing laboratory, for a Covid-19 test taken no later than 72 hours before arrival or a negative antigen (rapid) certificate taken no longer than 48 hours before arrival.
This test is mandatory for all tourists (including children over the age of 12), regardless of the epidemiological situation in the country of departure. Only children under the age of 12 will not be required to undergo a PCR test. Please refer to the protocolas of arrival in Greece. https://travel.gov.gr

Also for travel across the mainland,  Zakynthos Informer informs you that the Government is evaluating the epidemiological data on the Mainland, the situation will be re-evaluated soon.
