The president of the Greek Republic, the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister and leaders of political parties condemned the blind violence and the hatred that took place against Muslim worshipers in Christchurch and expressed their condolences to the families of the victims.
In his message, President Prokopis Pavlopoulos expressed his “abhorrence for the devious act of blind violence and religious hatred against innocent citizens” He expressed his “sincere condolence to the families of the victims and wished rapid recovery of the injured.
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said that he was shocked and expressed his solidarity with the people. He tweeted in English:
Deeply shocked by the acts of terror in the Mosques in New Zealand. We stand in solidarity with the people of New Zealand. It is our duty to stand for tolerance and religious freedom and raise our voices against far right extremism and racist hatred.
