The Greek mum has gotten a name for herself, for being over protective, from her own children.
Before a Greek adult, single so still living ‘at home’, goes out Mum will ask / tell:
– ‘have you eaten?’
– ‘take your jacket/cardigan with you’,
– ‘i’ll die and wont see grandchildren’,
– ‘who will put up with you?’
– ‘don’t go out with wet hair’, etc, the list goes on.
With young children she can be seen following / chasing them around, holding a spoon or fork in one hand and in the other a bowl of food.
This mother has taken over protection to the next level.
Here’s the latest:
Giannis Panou normally plays as a midfielder for his team, Kamena Vourla, however on Sunday during his match, against Parnassos Amfiklia he was required to stand in as goalkeeper and had his mum by his side the entire game.
His “protective” mother was there for the 90 minutes of the game, in her attempt to keep her son dry, she held an umbrella to cover him from the rain when the ball was on the other half of the pitch.
The footballer himself, uploaded the photo and as to be expected, it went viral.
