A serious road accident took place yesterday afternoon in Aghios Kyrikas.
According to information, a 17 year-old local boy collided with an oncoming car.
Circumstances are unkown at this stage.
He was immediately transported to the local hospital where he was intubated in critical condition.
Due to the seriousness of his injuries he was later transferred by air to Tzanio Hospital.
Police are investigating the accident.

An announcement by the Administration of the Zakynthos General Hospital, under the Ministry of Health was made in regards to ensuring satisfactory quantities of blood during these emergency times. So as to extend the increase need resulting in COVI-19, the administration would like to inform all blood donors that blood donations will be taken daily in the Ecclesiastical Centre of Gaitani “Saint Joseph”. This is provided by the Holy Metropolis of Zakynthos, and not the blood centre of the Zakynthos Hospital. All donations are carried out Monday – Friday 08.30 – 11.30 a.m., commencing tomorrow Thursday, March 19th.
