Infant transported by boat to Kyllini

The family of an infant with serious medical problems were fortunate to have the Coast Guard on their side.

There had been a 48 hour strike called by all the seaman of Greece.

The infant needed to be urgently transported to hospital in Patras. In the early hours of Tuesday, the Coast Guard stepped in straight away, after being asked by the Minister.

The infant was accompanied by a doctor and met in Kyllini by an ambulance to be transported to hospital.

A second infant, just 5 moths old was also transported by the coast guard to Kyllini on Wednesday lunchtime. Again the infant and its parents were accompanied by a doctor
