International Festival, Zakynthos to take part.

Zakynthos is to take part in the 8th international medieval event at the Chlemoutsi Castle, Kyllini.

This Saturday, the 20th of July, 2019,  the Festival begins, a festival with European acknowledgement as it is part of the major International festivals of Europe.

The event is based on a multidimensional music journey on myths, and story of a fantastic philhellenic traveller of the 18th and 19th century who travels to the Medieval Castles of Greece, this time the Castle in Kyllini.

Giostra Di Zante and its well known group, whom of which hold an international medieval contest of jousting, each year in Zakynthos, will also be present at the event.

The Municipality of Andravida – Kyllini, the Hellenic Open University of Patras, and the Hellenic Antiquities Directorate have requested co-organisation of Western Greece in order to create a new musical and audiovisual spectacle titled “Medieval Castle Nights- The Secret Song of the Castle” by Giorgos Voukanos, with texts written by Mary Voukanou.

Gates of the Castle will open at 19.45 and the entery is free of charge.

The cultural flagship of the Festival starts with the Medieval Castle Nights – and the Secret Song of the Castle that takes place at Chlemoutsi Castle, which this summer will continue their popular and successful course for 3 performances with the dreamy voice of Anda Athanasopoulou!

The event is surely to be an impressive one with the Sets orgainsed by Christo Defrim Hasa, Video Art Efi Panagopoulou, Lighting by Sakis Marakas and Scientific Editing by  Nancy Rallis. The stories and myths will be  narrated by Chryssa Roma, whilst participating in the event will also be the Athletic Archery Association from Lechena and the Italian Women’s Choir directed by Richard J.
