An Investigation has begun into the death of a young tourist who fell from the cliffs above the ‘shipwreck’, Navagio Beach.
The judicial investigation that’s now taking place, will look into the circumstances of the tragic accident that occurred in Summer 2017, that resulted in the death of a young tourist, who died trying to be photographed on the cliffs above the famous ‘shipwreck’ beach.
Local press reports, state that the investigation is due to a civil compensation claim by the victims family and which is said to be directed at those “responsible for taking protection measures in the area.”
This case was passed to Zakynthos by The Ministry of Justice, and it called for a preliminary examination which has now been sent to relevant officials and local authorities. Questions have arisen in regards to who will take responsibility for any absence of safety measures that should protect visitors on the cliffs above this beach.
