Katastari F.C. transfer

Katastari have added another Zakynthian to ‘its engine’ for the current period.  Mateios (Matthew) Kapsaskis, striker, now belongs to their ranks.  The footballer was free after having left the team of Sparta (2nd national division). This is a big transfer for Katastari as the young striker has passed through big teams, reaching as far as the Super League, with the jersey of Levadiakos. Born on 12th August, 1996 to a Greek (Zakynthian) father and Scottish mother he could be found kicking a ball from being young. A ball and tattoos are his two great … loves. Together with the trips, of course.
A right-foot winger with speed and raciness but also a good technique. Although the right is his good leg, he knows how to use both good.

Kapsaskis sprang from the Zakynthian Academies of Stratos Kouroumalos. He has played for Esperos category B and Zakynthiakos A EPS Zakynthos.  At the age of 16 he left the island to go to the infrastructure section of Atromitos. He wanted to succeed and stand out in a bigger team. After two years of presence in Peristeri he closed with the Youth of Levadiakos to sign his first professional contract there.

His premiere took place in Platanias v’s Levadiakos for the championship with an eight-minute presence. Followed by three consecutive big games for the youth. Twelve minutes against PAOK, once again replacing Bulgarian Domovitsky to play alongside Mantzios in attack. With AEK he played all-in-all  four minutes. As a defensive midfielder, this time instead of Nicholas. Opposite Olympiakos his participation went up to 20 minutes. Again he was changed with the Bulgarian ace, in  attack. His efforts and his stubbornness, combined with his talent, rewarded him with 30 minutes of participation with Atromitos and 90′ with Kalloni. Against the Peristerions, he once again took up his position on the axis, instead of Atzagun.

With Kalloni he went to his physical position: right winger. In the Greek Cup he had a match at his feet and two goals. With Corfu a seven-minute presence, with Panahaiki 90′ with a harvest of 2 goals and with AEK 90′ as a right winger. With Panahaiki he scored at 86′ only to find the net again at 88′. Minor injuries and mishaps do not dishearten him. With Kalloni he played with a bandaged hand but nevertheless he never thought to look back. At the beginning of this year he went to Sparta where, in January, he decided to leave and return to his island by wearing the shirt of Katastari.
