From November 27, the payments for the allowance of 800 euros, ie the special compensations of November, which reach up to 800 euros, start for employees of closed companies with a state mandate that will be declared in suspension of a contract.

Employees of companies that will put a temporary padlock under KAΔ (profession code number) for at least three weeks will receive the money they are entitled to as special purpose compensation from November 27 to December 3, as announced by the Ministry of Labour.

Respectively, the employees of affected companies, who will remain open but can use the measure of suspensions for part or all of their employees, will be paid the compensations up to 800 Euros, after December 7 and gradually until the end of the month.

Statements of employers – employees in open companies – affected: from November 15 to December 7

The amounts in four stages.

Especially for November, the special purpose allowances for the employees who will be declared suspended, will be calculated in proportion to the calendar days of the suspension on the amount of 800 euros, instead of 534 euros. The measure covers all employees who have been hired until November 4. The special purpose compensation will be calculated proportionally on the basis of the calendar (and not the working) days of the suspension and with a reference amount of 26.66 euros per calendar day of suspension.

Proportional compensation is entitled to 4 employee levels

Employees in specific Regional Units – e.g. in Thessaloniki – whose contract has been suspended, as they work in companies that were closed by state order under KAΔ from November 3, before the announcement of the generalized measures for the whole Territory. Their contracts are suspended for 28 days, from 3 to 30 November.

For example: An employee in a closed company with a state order based on KAΔ in Thessaloniki is suspended from 3.11.2020 and will receive 747 euros (calculation at 800 euros for 28 days of suspension)

-Employees whose contract is mandatory suspended from today, Saturday, November 7, in the context of the generalized measures for the whole Territory. Their contracts are suspended for 24 days, from November 7 to 30.

For example: An employee in a closed company with a state order based on KAΔ is suspended from 7.11.2020 and will receive 640 euros (calculation at 800 euros for 24 days of suspension)

-Employees whose contract must be suspended from another date, for example Monday 9 November.

For example: An employee in a hairdresser / barber shop / beauty salon that closes by state order on 9.11.2020 is suspended from 9.11.2020 and will receive 587 euros (calculation at 800 euros for 22 days of suspension)

-Employees whose employment contract is suspended for part or for the whole month in companies that remain open but are characterized as affected for the month of November and based on the generalized list of KAΔ of April 2020.

For example: An employee in an affected company based on KAΔ that has been suspended from 1.11.2020 will receive 800 euros or the ratio of 800 euros for the days of November that are suspended.

How the first days of November will be paid

For the first days of November, the employee is entitled to receive part of his salary from the employer proportionally. Until the time when the operation of the companies is suspended by state order, the employee provides his work to the employer, who will pay the employee the salary and will cover the insurance contributions corresponding to the days of the month in which he worked. On the contrary, from the moment the operation of a state-mandated company is suspended, the suspension of the employment contract is activated and the state now undertakes the payment of the special purpose compensation and the coverage of the insurance contributions in the amount of the nominal salary of the employees.

What will apply with contributions and redundancies.

Those employees who are in suspension status the state covers the total insurance contributions calculated in the amount of their nominal salary.

In the case of companies that compulsorily or those who have not put their employees on suspension, it is prohibited to make redundancies and if they do, they are invalid.

For the affected companies that put their staff on suspension, the clause of maintaining the existing number of employees for one month after the activation of the suspensions also applies Closed by state order

In particular, for the closed enterprises based on KAΔ, for the month of November, and exceptionally for this case, the responsible declarations of employers in the information system “Ergani” for the suspension of employment contracts of their employees will be submitted from 15/11/2020 until 24 / 11/2020. During this period, the correct repetition of responsible statements will be allowed. Respectively, the employees will submit responsible statements on the electronic platform supportemployees.services.gov.gr from 15/11/2020 until 24/11/2020. Employees are required to submit statements to the supportemployees.services.gov.gr platform only if their employment contract is suspended for the first time, regardless of the employer. That is, if an employee was suspended in April and is now working for another employer, he or she does not need to reapply for the new November suspension.

The payments of the special purpose compensation for the employees of the closed companies based on KAΔ (profession code number) will be made from 27/11/2020 until 3/12/2020.

For the companies affected by KAΔ, the employers will submit responsible statements for the suspension of employment contracts of their employees in the information system “Ergani” from 15/11/2020 to 7/12/2020. During this period, the correct repetition of responsible statements will be allowed. Respectively, the employees will submit responsible statements on the platform supportemployees.services.gov.gr in the same above period, ie from 15/11/2020 to 7/12/2020, in cases where their employment contracts are placed for the first time in suspension, regardless of the employer.

Payments of special purpose compensation for the above employees will be made gradually by the end of the month.
