According to a report in the newspaper “Ta Nea”, the issue of the new IDs will start in 2021 and may even replace the driving license.
It will be based on the Estonian model and in fact, there will be a super chip with all the data that is required, based on the newspaper report.
The newspaper “Ta Nea” notes that the new identities are being designed by the Ministries of Digital Governance and Citizen Protection and will come into effect in 2021.
The aim is not to violate any personal data and to replace other numbers such as VAT and AMKA.
They will have a color photo of the ID holder and will carry practically all tax and insurance data, including – as it seems – the driver’s license.
