New Measures:- Ferry boats masks must be worn on deck as well.

NEW MEASURE.

Masks compulsory on deck as well.

The health authorities of the country are on alert. This is in order to stop the epidemic wave of coronavirus as soon as possible and before the 15th August.
After increasing capacity for ferry boats, travellers are now asked to wear a mask. Not only within closed areas but also on deck.
Government spokesman Stelios Petsas announced that the government decided that masks are compulsory, including the outdoor areas on ships from 4th to 18th August.
He also announced that the no-return measure for land workers, who leave Greece is extended until 18th August. He also made a detailed reference on the measures announced by Nikos Hardalias on Friday.
Mr. Petsas stressed that “Greece has a better epidemiological picture and managed to control the imported cases” and added that the enemy in the battle remains complacency, which has led to an increase in cases in the regions and especially urban centres.
The increase in cases has not led to significant pressure on the health system. The main source of concern are the land gateways, as well as the over-crowding in entertainment centres and means of transport“, added Stelios Petsas and concluded by saying that “the government calls on citizens to comply with the rules“.

Anxiety for the 15th August / Assumption

A teleconference preceded on Monday morning, 03/08, under the Prime Minister at Maximos Mansion. In the teleconference, the Minister of Health, Vasilis Kikilias, proposed the use of masks in outside areas of ships. Something that was accepted and announced by the Government Spokesman, Mr. Petsas.
The three day period around the 15th of August is crucial” say sources from the Ministry of Health for the evolution of the pandemic in our country. “This will be seen by the way we behave amongst ourselves and the way the organised state reacts, depending on these outcomes we will see the appropriate result. Especially for the vulnerable groups that we have to protect. We all need to work together: state mechanism-municipalities-regions-citizens“, the Minister of Health reportedly noted.
The extension of the obligation of wearing a mask is an additional measure, while other measures are expected to be announced within the week.
