Greece’s banks will operate with a new schedule as of May 2, cutting half an hour from the service they offer to the public. Banks will be open to public from 08:00 a.m. until 02:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and not until 02:30 as it used to be.
On Fridays the schedule remains the same 08:00 a.m. to 02:30 p.m.
The new schedules comes into effects after the bank employees union OTOE signed a new collective bargain after three months of negotiations. OTOE had threaten with strikes.
The bargain includes also a slight pay raise.
PS surprised? I was always thinking Greek banks should be open to public for longer hours….
