Instructions for the emergency months compensation for seasonal workers in tourism, who have no possibility of being re employed have been given by OAED.
Specifically they refer to the creation of the electronic page for OAED which will be announced in the next few days, with which applicants will be able to register their unemployment number as well as their bank details. In the next few days OAED will announce the page set up with the dates of operation and the EXACT instructions that must be completed by applicants entitled to the money. They also stressed that there will be NO need for applicants to visit their OAED office during this period of application.
Who is entitled to the emergency monthly payments?
Seasonal workers in tourism who will not be re employed and during the period September 19 – February 20 received unemployment benefits for 3 to 5 months.
Also entitled are staff who lost their jobs due to the decline of Thomas Cook and during the period of September 19 – February 20 received unemployment benefits.
A necessary requirement is that the applicants remain unemployed and registered to OAED during the time period from June 2020 to and including August 2020.
The emergency money will be paid at the level equal to the last unemployment benefit and applicants will receive 3 months money for June, July and August.
How will the money be received?
The applicants who registered with the electronic page of OAED, which will be announced in the next few days, will have to complete an affirmation ( υπεύθυνη δήλωση) that they will stay unemployed and their contacts will not be renewed during this period, however if they are re employed they must inform OAED immediately.
When will the money be paid?
The money will be deposited into applicants bank accounts in the first 15 days of the month following the completion of each month they are unemployed, eg June money will be paid in the first 15 days of July.
It is to be noted that this money is not taxable.
