Two month extension for unemployment benefits
A two month extension for unemployment benefits for OAED for August and September. In addition the suspension of contracts for October and November for workers in hospitality as well as tourism have been discussed today by the tourism minister, according to Kathermerini newspaper.
The continuing pandemic has seen a need for more support. A package of support, from autumn onwards, was also on the table, for workers and businesses, according to Minister of Economy Christos Staikoura. This third cycle of support will bring it to the total of 3 million euros – thoughts of a fourth package are also being discussed but with no conclusive decision as yet.
