Yesterday the plan for renovating the old play ground behind the Cultural centre took place.
Bulldozers and trucks cleared the old and started laying down the foundations for the new.
Scenes of a derelict area, what used to be a haven for delinquency, have now made way for hope that the area will become for what it was planned; a playground and recreation area for young children.
“There may have been delays in approvals we had to get for this process. However, we are happy now as the playground began Thursday and by the end of the month, provided the weather conditions it should be finished.” Mr A. Ziva, President of the Port Authority stated.
Mr. Angelidis, the head contractor of the redevelopment said “Work began on Thursday. We started with the layout of the area. We will now continue to place the playground toys. From today, Friday and next week the area will be closed so that works can be completed”.
The park will be closed as of yesterday 08.00a.m up til 14.00p.m 10/10/19 and today, 11/10/19
