POST-WAR RECORD

Data-shock on the labour market is derived from the recent report of OAED
for December 2018.

According to the relevant table, the declared unemployed amounted to 1,116,816 (935,449 + 181,367), a percentage-record for the last 70+ years. These shocking numbers prove the “Waterloo” of the SYRIZA government on the issue of unemployment.

Specifically, registered unemployed persons rose in December by 18,379 persons compared to November of the same year and by 46,154 persons compared to December 2017.

This negative record comes for the second consecutive month since the unemployed in November 2018 had increased by 86,168 compared to October 2018 and by 54,955 compared to November 2017.

Thus, according to OAED data for December 2018, registered unemployment is about 25%.

All of the above show that the government, despite its celebrations, has definitively lost the battle to reduce unemployment, since during its own governance flexible forms of employment and cheap full-time employment
have soared to unprecedented levels for a European country, while lately it
returns to the previous high rates and unemployment, especially unemployment among women and young people.
