Yesterday the news of the first fatal accident involving a Polish tourist shocked Zakynthos, most asking the question again as to why the ATV’s are allowed on the road. The report from the police department is as below:-

Road accident with the fatal injury to a foreigner in Zakynthos
Two (2) more people were also injured
Today (03-05-2019), at noon, on the 8th km stretch of the Provincial Road of Zakynthos-Volimes, Agio Kiryka, a four-wheeled passenger vehicle (ATV) driven by a 29-year-old foreigner, collided with a private car driven by a 44-year-old.
The result of the collision was the fatal injuries of the 29-year-old driver of the four-wheeled vehicle, light injuries of a 28-year-old passenger of the four-wheeled vehicle and the 44-year-old driver of the car.
A preliminary investigation into the exact determination of the conditions of the road accident is being carried out by the Traffic Police Department of Zakynthos.
Reports also have been that the partner of the deceased who was with him at the time is still in Hospital stable but critical.
